About Eklavya:

Eklavya is a non-government registered society that was set up in 1982 to actively seed and develop academic programmes for curricular change in elementary education, at the micro level, and mainstream them through government and non-government agencies.

Currently our field engagements are rooted in several districts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar and Rajasthan. These engagements primarily focus on teacher education, language and literacy skills, science and maths education, pedagogy, community engagement, reading initiatives, learning by doing, assessment and impact studies, etc.

We produce one of the country's best children’s literature, an effort guided by our school and community-based programmes. The core of publications is to keep the reading material close to the life and environment of the readers and also produce it at an affordable price. We produce material in more than a dozen languages.

About the Role:
We are looking for a Communications Associate/ Manager who can help tell the stories of Eklavya’s work — stories from classrooms, communities, and the people who make learning meaningful. The role involves leading our social media presence (mainly Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn), building a communication rhythm that connects our teams across states, and sharing our journey with the larger world. The person will work closely with field teams, educators, and programme leads to bring ideas, voices, and experiences together — making sure our communication reflects the warmth, honesty, and depth of our work in education and beyond.

Location: Bhopal, traveling expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Social Media: Manage and grow Eklavya’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn) with a thoughtful, creative approach that reflects our values and field realities.
  • Content & Storytelling: Collect and craft stories from our field sites — about teachers, children, communities, and classrooms — and present them in engaging formats like posts, reels, blogs, and newsletters.
  • Internal Communication: Keep the Eklavya community connected through regular updates, newsletters, and information-sharing so everyone feels part of one collective effort.
  • Collaboration: Work with programme teams and leadership to bring out new ideas, campaigns, and moments that capture our ongoing work and reflections.
  • Analytics & Learning: Track engagement metrics, analyze communication outcomes, and refine strategies for greater impact and reach.
  • Design & Documentation: Support in developing brochures, reports, presentations, and short videos to share our work with partners, funders, and the larger education community.
  • Events & Outreach: Contribute to communication around events, workshops, and campaigns — before, during, and after — ensuring the stories and learning from these reach a wider audience.
  • Learning & Reflection: Track engagement, reflect on what connects with our audience, and help evolve Eklavya’s communication practices over time.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Development Studies, or related fields is preferred
  • 3–6 years of experience in communications, storytelling, media, or content creation — preferably in the development or education sector.
  • Strong writing and editing skills in English and Hindi.
  • A creative eye for visuals, design, and social media.
  • Ability to work closely with diverse teams — from field staff to senior leadership — and translate on-ground work into powerful narratives.
  • Comfortable using tools like Canva, basic video editing apps, or any other platform that helps bring stories to life.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with an openness to travel to field sites.
  • A deep interest in education, community learning, and creating authentic communication that bridges the field and the world outside.

Remuneration and other benefits:

The remuneration for this position will be ₹ 40,000 to 50,000 per month, based on experience and qualifications.

In addition, Eklavya offers medical and accidental insurance, provident fund, gratuity, and other social security provisions as per organizational policy.

Eklavya is an open and inclusive workspace that values diversity and encourages people from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to apply. We believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance and fostering a culture of trust, learning, and collaboration.
