We present here a small selection of our titles. Our complete catalogue is available at www.pitarakart.in.
Our catalogue comprises wordless books, picture story books, books for the emergent reader and chapter books and novels for young adults, activity books and collection of riddles and puzzles. Our original content titles are rooted in the context and landscape of our readers’ lives. Many of our stories are portrayals of differently lived childhoods striving to find a voice. Our titles illustrated by children, traditional tribal and contemporary artists are vivid and vibrant, bringing the stories alive!
We strive to bring stories from different geographies and cultures to widen the reading horizon for our readership. We have actively brought in titles from world literature and have translated and published Russian, Norwegian, German, Swedish, Belgian, Italian and Iranian children’s books into Hindi and English.
For our multilingual audiences in the country and the diaspora scattered around the world, we have published books in Hindi, English, Urdu, Marathi, Bangla, Odia, Kannad, Malwi, Chhattisgarhi, Tibetan, Gondi, Korku and Mundari –the last three being languages of the indigenous communities.
Our thrust has been and will continue to be to develop and publish books that portray independent, thoughtful children with an agency of their own. And books that help engage parents and educators.
