Job Title: EGRIE Fellow – Enabling Gender-Responsive and Inclusive Education
Location: Seoni Malwa, Babai, & Pipariya Blocks, Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh
Type: Full-Time
Fellowship Stipend: ₹ 18,000 – ₹ 24,000 CTO per month
Duration: 1 year (with possibility of extension based on performance and project needs)
About the Project
The Enabling Gender: Responsive and Inclusive Education (EGRIE) initiative is dedicated to fostering holistic and continuous learning for children, with a strong emphasis on empowering girls’ education from early childhood onwards. Through its work, the project invites educators, community members, and institutions to reimagine education through a gender-inclusive lens.
Key project components include:
- Rejuvenating Anganwadis through interactive learning corners.
- Revitalising Mata Samitis to strengthen local engagement in children’s learning.
- Supporting Teachers in adopting gender-responsive educational practices.
- Running Shiksha Protsahan Kendras, safe spaces for community-based learning.
This fellowship is an opportunity for early-career professionals to gain grounded experience in gender, education, and community development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of project activities in Anganwadi centres, schools, and communities.
- Support in organising and facilitating teacher orientations, community meetings, and children’s learning sessions.
- Help in maintaining documentation—basic reports, stories from the field, and activity logs.
- Build rapport with Anganwadi workers, teachers, and community members to foster participation.
- Participate in regular team meetings, field visits, and training workshops.
- Support data collection and feedback processes for monitoring and learning purposes.
Who Can Apply?
- Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or any other relevant field.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant field or project experience in education, development, or community work.
- Familiarity with issues related to gender, early childhood care and education (ECCE), and inclusive education is desirable.
- Sensitivity and commitment to working with children and communities from diverse social backgrounds.
- Willingness to travel within assigned blocks and engage with grassroots institutions.
Language Skills Required
- Proficiency in Hindi and English (reading and writing) is required.
- Ability to engage with children, write basic documentation, and participate in discussions in both languages.
