Eklavya is a registered non-governmental organisation established in 1982. It has been actively involved in developing innovative academic programmes aimed at curricular reform in elementary education. These innovations are piloted at the grassroots level and shared with both government and non-government agencies for wider adoption.
About the project- ‘Umang’:
Initiated in 2023 with technical support from IIT Jodhpur, Project Umang is a CSR initiative by JSW Cement Ltd. being implemented across 8 government schools in 5 villages of Nagaur district, Rajasthan. The project supports over 1,400 students and focuses on:
- Enhancing student learning experiences
- Strengthening school infrastructure
- Promoting health and hygiene practices
- Fostering active community participation
Eklavya joined as a Knowledge and Implementation Partner in 2025 and has been jointly managing this programme with JSW Cement Ltd.
Role Summary:
We are seeking dynamic, committed, and passionate individuals to support the field implementation of Project Umang. The selected Project Assistants / Academic Field Support Persons will play a crucial role in driving academic initiatives and facilitating community and school engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with school principals, teachers, community members, and partner organisations
- Conduct support classes and maintain classroom progress reports
- Assist in library and laboratory activities
- Act as a liaison between schools, the program team, and CSR representatives
- Collect, compile, and maintain school-level data and records, school profiles and progress documentation
- Participate in regular workshops, training sessions, and review meetings
- Conduct student assessments and document outcomes in the form of success stories, field narratives, and case studies etc.
- Support in planning and organising special initiatives like Summer Camps, Winter Camps, Diwali Break Classes, etc.
- Ensure effective implementation of project activities in assigned schools
- Provide regular updates to the Program Coordinator
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (Science, English, or Mathematics); B.Ed. or Master’s degree preferred
- Keen interest in working with children, educators, and communities
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic Hindi-English typing
- Organisational skills with prior experience in managing school events (e.g., Book Festival, Bal-mela, etc.)
- Willingness to travel to communities and remote areas
Location & Travel:
Base: Nagaur, Rajasthan. Occasional travel within the district and to Eklavya’s Bhopal office may be required- as per need.
Language Proficiency:
- Hindi: Fluent in both verbal and written communication
- English: Working proficiency preferred
Compensation:
- Project Assistant - CTO (Cost to Organisation): Rs. 18,000 – Rs. 24,000 per month (CTO includes health and accident insurance, and other social security benefits. Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s suitability and experience.)
- Academic Field Support Person – CTO (Cost to Organisation): Rs. 15,000 – Rs. 17,000 per month (CTO includes health and accident insurance, and other social security benefits. Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s suitability and experience.)
