Eklavya Foundation is a non-governmental organization dedicated to social change through education. Over the past four decades, it has focused on educational research, curricular development, and micro-level implementation within India's public education system. Supported by the Planning Commission, the Department of Science and Technology, and other government bodies, Eklavya has pioneered developmentally appropriate school education programs across various subjects. It has collaborated with SCERTs in multiple states to provide academic resources for curriculum and textbook development. Additionally, Eklavya is actively involved in teacher professional development, contributing to M.A. Ed., D.Ed., and B.Ed. curricula, creating educational materials, and conducting teacher capacity-building workshops. We are looking for young, enthusiastic people for a project in Uttar Pradesh (Hardoi District). The project aims to work closely towards capacity building of teachers, aanganwadi workers, and government officials in the domains of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) & library revitalization in primary schools, and science and mathematics education at the middle school level.

The responsibilities for the job profile involve -  

  • Coordinating program activities in the field
  • Providing on-site support to schools and Aanganwadis through regular follow-up visits and hand-holding in learning activities and teaching planning
  • Administering baseline and endline tools; helping with data entry and conducting preliminary analysis
  • Providing assistance in residential workshops for teachers and aanganwadi workers
  • Providing assistance in developing training and teaching modules
  • Coordinating and conducting block-level workshops with support from resource persons 
  • Documentation of program activities
  • If found suitable, one person may be assigned the role of regional coordinator (Hardoi)

Essential requirements

  • A degree in the relevant discipline along with a degree in the field of education
  • At least 1-3 years work experience such as organizing teacher trainings, providing onsite support to school teachers 
  • Interest in working with students, teachers and the community 
  • Ability to network with a wide variety of people
  • Readiness to explore, take risks and learn from experiments
  • Experience of analysing quantitative / qualitative data 
  • Experimental skills for the science position
  • Communication skills
  • Documentation skills
  • Open to extensive two-wheeler movement in the rural set-up 

Base Location 
Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh with frequent visits to the schools across the district. (There may be occasional visits to Eklavya’s campuses in Bhopal or Hoshangabad for capacity building, team meetings and other events).

Salary: 
For Project Assistants 
C.T.O.* Rs. 25,000 - Rs. 32,000
(Will be finalized based on the nature of match between candidate’s skills, experience and the primary requirements of the profile). 

For Project Associates
C.T.O.* Rs. 35,000 - Rs. 40,000 (Will be finalized based on the nature of match between candidate’s skills, experience and the primary requirements of the profile). 

* CTO includes health-accident insurance and other social securities.

Selection procedure 
Initial screening will be based on CVs. The selected candidates will be asked to appear for a written exam. The candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for an interview. The final selection will be based on your performance in all components.
