The Project Assistants/Associates will work closely and directly with Project In-charge/s and project teams of Assessment and Learning Partner, Eklavya Foundation and with the Schools2030 implementation team from Aga Khan Foundation. The position will be based within the Learning Partnership segment (LP), however, there may be specific tasks from the Assessment Partnership segment (AP) that the person will be expected to actively anchor/contribute to.
About Schools 2030
Schools2030 is an innovative ten-year program dedicated to enhancing learning outcomes. Currently operating in ten different countries, it employs a longitudinal action research methodology with a specific focus on improving the learning experiences of students aged 5+, 10+, and 15+. This program adheres to the Human-Centered Design approach, enabling the development of cost-effective, scalable, and contextually relevant solutions tailored to the holistic development of students from marginalized backgrounds.
In India, Schools2030 operates in a diverse range of educational spaces across Bihar, including Anganwadis, elementary schools, secondary schools and District Institutes of Education and Training. The primary goal within the Indian context is to elevate learning outcomes in these educational institutions.
About Learning Partner segment
As a Learning Partner, Eklavya Foundation plays a crucial role in co-contextualizing and enriching the Schools2030 program in India by actively engaging in process documentation, co-creation of evidence, and knowledge development. This involves documenting the Human-Centric Design thinking processes, including the responses from teachers, local communities, and the AKF India team, as well as tracking the implementation of emerging solutions and innovations by schools, SMCs, and local communities. Assist the Schools2030 team in identifying the capacity building requirements of the AKF team members and stakeholders, and also coordinate with relevant resource persons and workshops/courses for the same.
About Assessment Partner segment
As the Assessment Partner Eklavya foundation engages in an extensive review of the discourse on learning assessment and tool design available locally and globally to identify challenges, gaps and innovations. The aim is to come up with context-responsive large-scale assessment tools further upholding learner-friendliness, learning-richness, while ensuring fulfillment of the foundational criteria of standardization, validity, reliability etc. The engagement further involves collaboration with teachers to explore possibilities of integrating an alternative, innovative assessment approach as a part of classroom processes.
The responsibilities for the job profile involve;
- Field visits to across project districts for on-site academic / coordination support in ongoing activities (including but not limited to baseline/endline assessments, innovation design, documentation, showcase events etc).
- Anchor the Learning Partnership component including overall planning, coordination, reviews and ensure timely reportings.
- Coordinate process documentation of the Schools2030 programme in Bihar, including written and audio-visual.
- Preparation of reflective and in-depth case studies, quarterly reports, and school/community profiles with the team.
- Undertake and ensure comprehensive documentation of workshops/meetings with the teachers, stakeholders etc.
- Engaging in extensive literature review of existing and ongoing contributions and innovations in the field of educational assessment and tool design, covering local, national, and international levels.
- Active assistance in designing the assessment process and tools and in data collection, collation, coding, analysis and report writing.
- Active participation in conceptualizing, planning, and implementing the assessment tools.
- Conducting needs’ assessment and identifying potential areas for capacity building of Eklavya and AKF team members.
- Conceptualizing capacity building workshops for Schools2030 implementation and AP-LP teams.
Essential skill requirements:
- A Master’s degree in Education would be preferred. (Or an equivalent degree in Development studies / Social sciences).
- Relevant work experience of at least 1-3 years.
- Interest in working with students, teachers and the community.
- Working understanding or willingness to learn about social research methods and ethics.
- Interest in handling quantitative analysis and large-scale data.
- Interest and motivation to build an understanding around educational assessments, innovations and teacher education.
- Professional fluency in written English (As the profile would require writing and editing of documents).
Base Location:
Muzaffarpur / Saran / Bhojpur / Patna with frequent visits to the schools across the districts. (There may be occasional visits* to other districts or to Patna, for capacity building/team meetings and other events).
*Kindly note that the team member may have to travel using local public modes of transport such as buses/trains etc.

Salary range:
For Project Assistants:
C.T.O.* Rs. 25,000- Rs. 30,000 (P.M. Will be finalized based on the nature of match between candidate’s skills, experience and the primary requirements of the profile).
For Project Associates:
C.T.O.* Rs. 31,000 - Rs. 35,000 (P.M. Will be finalized based on the nature of match between candidate’s skills, experience and the primary requirements of the profile).
