Schools 2030 is a new, globally informed, locally rooted 10-year longitudinal action research and learning improvement programme (from 2020-2030) working with 1000 pioneering pre-schools, primary schools, secondary schools and youth development partners across 10 countries. Schools2030 aims to find out ‘what works’ in equipping children and young people with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values needed to successfully navigate uncertainty and become contributing members of society, and supporting such ‘positive deviance’ strategies to improve learning outcomes. Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is implementing agency of the programme Schools2030 in 100 pre-schools, primary schools, secondary schools and youth spaces of Patna, Samastipur and three more districts in Bihar.
Role of Eklavya Foundation
Eklavya Foundation is working as an assessment partner with Schools2030 project in India. Here the focus would be on conducting baseline and endline with the identified data sets under the project. This process would include identifying and developing relevant tools, contextualisation of the same, collecting data, analysis of the data from field, writing the report based on our analysis and other related tasks.
Eklavya Foundation is looking for candidates to work in Bihar on this project.
Position: Senior Research Associate
The Senior research associate will work closely and directly with AKF team, Project In-charge, and Research Assistant. The work involvement will consist of;
- Planning of implementation strategies
- Offering continuous engagement and support to overall planning, coordination, review, and reporting of all project activities
- Extensive literature review of existing and ongoing contributions and innovations in the field of educational assessment, covering local, national, and international levels
- Anchor and actively contribute to data collection, collation, coding, and analysis.
- Anchor and actively undertake background research on existing assessment tools and their evaluation.
- Anchor and ensure detailed documentation of various components of the engagement.
- Active participation in conceptualizing, planning, and implementing the pilot testing of assessment tools and independent verification process.
- Active assistance in designing the assessment process and tools.
- Assistance in identifying potential areas for capacity building of Eklavya and AKF team members.
- Assistance in conceptualizing, planning capacity-building sessions.
- Regular field visits and any required on-site support as may be asked for
- Conceptualise, co-author research reports, and papers along with PI and field team members.
Qualifications-
- Master’s in Education or in development studies (in case of the latter a demonstrated interest in education would be appreciated).
- Understanding of research methodology and research ethics.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools.
- Considerable fluency in Hindi and English.
- Work experience of 3-5 years is preferred.
- Candidate must be prepared to travel within/outside the state as and when required
For Ph.D. holders, candidates with 1-2 years of experience can be considered.
Base Location: Bihar (Patna, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Saran and Bhojpur (anyone))
Note: The work will also involve travel to different locations within the state.
Gross Salary:
Project Associate: Rs. 35,000 – 40,000 per month
(CTO includes health-accident insurance and other social securities)
