Shiksha Ki Udaan

The project is aimed at learning enhancement in rural government schools in the Berasia block o Bhopal district and Shahpur block of Betul district in Madhya Pradesh. There will be two different intervention models in these schools. The project is aimed at working on the academic improvement of children and the entire school ecosystem in classes 3 to 8 as a whole, in a multi-pronged manner. In addition, the project aims also at working with students in classes 9 and 10 in these schools, focusing on career counselling and analytical skills.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Education of children in classes 3 to 8 in more than 40 rural government schools in both the locations.
  • Building social and environmental sensitivity and career choice awareness in children studying in classes 9 and 10 in rural government schools.
  • Training and capacity building of teachers in rural government schools, for improving teacher-child interaction.
  • Building community engagement and linking it with education initiatives.

 

Position: Project Associate (1)
Location:
Berasia (Bhopal) / Shahpur (Betul)
Salary: Rs. 24,000 – 30,000 per month (CTO includes health-accident insurance and other social securities)

  • Continuous engagement and support to overall planning, coordination, review and reporting of all project activities
  • Academic planning involving the team members.
  • Planning and organisation of all baseline-endline tests, assessment tools, and other academic activities.
  • Liaison with the District, Block and Cluster level government education structures and functionaries.
  • Plan and organise training of all the stakeholders, govt. school teachers, resource pool children.
  • Planning and preparations of team members for monthly meetings with community and resource pool children, govt. teachers, SMC members.
  • Coordination with overall Eklavya vision and inputs to other primary and middle school initiatives for taking the learnings of the project to other areas.
  • Follow-up visits to primary schools within the block, on regular basis for follow-up and guidance
  • Study daily diaries of Project Assistants, Felllows and Academic Field Support Persons for review and guidance.

Qualifications and other desirables:

  • Post-graduates, possessing interest and abilities to work with students, teachers and community.
  • Candidate should have proficiency in verbal and written communications (must possess good command over English & Hindi).
  • Candidate must be prepared to travel intensively in field area and travel within / outside the state as and when required.
  • Candidates with some experience will be preferred. For equivalent candidates, applications from women, persons from under-served caste, tribe, minority background and differently abled persons will be preferred.
  • Must be able to ride a two-wheeler

Final remuneration will be based on the experience and skill set.

Position: Project Assistant (1)/Fellow (1) (For academic assistance role)
Location: Berasia (Bhopal) / Shahpur (Betul)
Salary for Project Assistant: Rs. 22,000 – 25,000 per month
Stipend for Fellow: Rs. 16,000-18,000 (CTO includes health-accident insurance and other social securities)

Assistance in all review, reporting and monitoring activities

  • Planning and review of the academic work in schools with the Academic Field Support Persons, under the guidance of the Project In-charge and Project Associate.
  • Implementation of all baseline-endlone tests, ‘Bal Melas’, learning events, camps.
  • Assistance in the development of tools and Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs) for primary and middle classes.
  • Regular work with the teachers of govt. schools for continued inputs in the use of TLMs.
  • Assistance in all training activities for Academic Field Support Persons, resource pool children, govt. teachers, SMC members.
  • Visits to specified number of primary schools within the allotted block, on monthly basis for follow-up and guidance.
  • Study of the daily diaries of Academic Field Support Persons for review and guidance.
  • Continuous process documentation of the new experiments being tried out, like month long summer camps in new villages, etc.

Qualifications and other desirables:

  • Graduates / post-graduates, possessing interest and abilities to work with students, teachers and community.
  • Candidate should have proficiency in verbal and written communications (must possess good command over English & Hindi).
  • Candidate must be prepared to travel within / outside the state as and when required.
